Trading under earlier and different names, Verbier-Skiing was previously owned by Beachcomber Tours and then Tourvest Holdings, part of the Imperial Group. George Skaris was born in America, grew up in Johannesburg and re located to Cape Town in 1998. He started working at the resort for Beachcomber at the age of 27. Two years later, he was promoted to manager of the resort. Recently, he has taken over the business from Tourvest Holdings as sole owner. Having now been associated with the resort for since1991, it is safe to say that George knows every facet of the business. He also obviously has come to know personally the many South Africans and Guests from all over the world he has hosted - and entertained may it be said - over the years.

The ticketing sales and reservations side of Verbier-Skiing in South Africa is dealt with by travel agency “Ski 360 Degrees" which is located in Johannesburg. This travel agency is owned and run by George's long-time friend Ramon Geldenhuys who has many years’ experience in travel and skiing management. Another reason therefore why clients return year after year to this ski resort is because they know and can trust that their holiday arrangements are truly in the hands of professionals. George boasts a 75% repeat rate each year.
